Community Action, Inc. is a private non-profit agency originally established in 1965 as part of the Economic Opportunity Act signed into law in 1964. Community Action, Inc. leverages all available local, state, private and federal resources to assist individuals, families and communities to overcome poverty and become self-sufficient. Our effectiveness is measured by the number of programs we provide and by the improvements and achievements of individuals, families and communities in our service area.
CAI Mission, Vision and Values Statement:
Community Action, Inc. (โCAIโ or the โAgencyโ) is a private non-profit organization established in 1965 to address the causes and consequences of poverty in the Greater Haverhill, Amesbury, Boxford, Georgetown, Groveland, Merrimac, Newbury, Newburyport, Rowley, Salisbury, and West Newbury. Some CAI programs also serve Beverly, Essex, Gloucester, Hamilton, Ipswich, Lawrence, Manchester, Rockport, Topsfield, and Wenham.
