ESOL Intermediate Instructor

Seasonal Position 36 weeks per year

 

Seeking a part-time ESOL Instructor for intermediate English language students. The instructor will provide group and individual instruction to adult learners, participate in curriculum and program development, have the ability to adapt teaching styles and materials to meet the individual needs of students, and model lifelong learning to students. The instructor will create rigorous, standards-based, dynamic lessons that are relevant to the needs and goals of the students. The position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in education or a related field.  A teaching certificate is preferred. A combination of relevant experience and education may be considered.

 

Experience working with the adult-learning population, excellent oral and written communication skills, strong technology knowledge, and sensitivity to cultural and socioeconomic issues are a must. The position 4.5 hours per week at $29.30/hour, including prep time. Some weeks may require additional paid hours for staff meetings, professional development, and curriculum design.
