CAI’s Norther Essex WIC program serves the following Massachusetts cities and towns: Amesbury, Beverly, Boxford, Essex, Georgetown, Gloucester, Groveland, Hamilton, Haverhill, Ipswich, Manchester By The Sea, Merrimac, Newbury, Newburyport, Rockport, Rowley, Salisbury, Topsfield, Wenham and West Newbury.

Services

~Theย Massachusetts Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Nutrition Programย provides healthy foods, nutrition education, breast feeding education and support and referrals to healthcare and other services, free of charge, to Massachusetts families who qualify.

~Nutrition educations for pregnant and postpartom people, infants and children under age five

~Monthly benefits to purchase healthy food.
Participants receive milk, cheese, yogurt, eggs, peanut butter, beans, cereal, whole grains, 100% fruit juice, canned fish, choice of fresh/frozen canned fruits and vegetables, infant formula (if needed) and instant foods.

~Nutrition and health supports including nutrition education, breastfeeding support, health workshops, infant and child development information, referrals and screenings for immunizations, developmental milestones and iron levels

~Referrals to healthcare & other community resources.
Connecting participants with medical and dental care, health insurance, SNAP, child care, housing, fuel assistance and other services that can benefit the whole family

~Coupons for use at Farmer’s Markets
WIC collaborates with the U.S. Department of Food and Agriculture to provide coupons that can be redeemed for fresh herbs, fruits and vegetables at participating Farmers Market vendors during the summer months.
